You pick the category yourself — nothing is guessed from your photo. Each one has its own colour on the map, so you can see at a glance what kind of week it's been.
Everything is searchable. That's the whole point.
Search "van" and see every vehicle break-in reported on your roads. Filter to fly-tipping in the last month. Check whether the corner has been reported before, or whether it's just you.
Reports are kept for twelve months and then deleted automatically. Long enough to spot a pattern, short enough that nothing follows people around.
What TownEye will never do.
This is a safety app for a small place. Some things are off the table by design, not by oversight.
There is no category for a "suspicious person", and there never will be. You report what happened, not who you think did it.
None, anywhere. If a photo shows someone recognisable, it goes to a local moderator before anyone else can see it.
No messaging, no comment wars, no posting for the sake of it. This exists to cut the noise, not to move it somewhere new.
No ads, no advertisers, no data brokers. Delete your account and everything goes with it, properly and immediately.
Told about what matters. Not everything.
You choose which categories notify you and how close they have to be. It starts conservative — theft and antisocial behaviour within 800 metres — and you can turn it down further or off entirely. You are never notified about your own reports.
